Karen Lipp is a well-known Dressage rider that has competed in and won several national and international competitions. Most recently her accomplishments include the 2002 Heidelberg Cup, the 2003 United States Dressage Federation's (USDF) Region 3 Open Championship for Training level, Fourth Level and Prix. St. Georges and the 2004 USDF Region 3 Open Championships for Prix St. Georges and Intermediare II.
"When traveling with and showing Lipton, Kayce Redmond's eight year old Danish Warmblood, I am always focused on making sure he is healthy and can perform at his best. Lipton tends to be a nervous horse that frequently refuses to eat and is more difficult to work with than my other horses. The stress of training, traveling and showing takes a heavy toll on Lipton."
Karen currently trains Lipton and other performance horses on a 50-acre farm in the northern suburbs of Georgia, just outside of Atlanta.
"I have seen the effects of ulcers on performance horses. They often display irregular eating behavior, produce loose stool and exhibit a change in attitude, all of which make it difficult for them to train and compete."
"As a competitor, my attention and commitment to optimal health care for Lipton is the reason I consulted with my veterinarian and initiated a trial program using ULCERGARD. Knowing that ULCERGARD is proven to prevent horses from developing painful stomach ulcers was reason enough to begin a preventive program."
Karen, like many other horse owners, believes that her horse has gone undiagnosed with ulcers as the cost of scoping was a deterrent to getting a confirmed diagnosis.
"It is definitely much more affordable to prevent equine ulcers, then it is to treat them, which is why I welcome the availability of ULCERGARD.
My initial trial use of ULCERGARD was a complete success. The oral paste was easy to give Lipton and he seemed to welcome the taste. I plan on using it prior to and during all future competitions. In fact, Lipton and I won the 2004 United States Dressage Federation's Region III Prix St. Georges Championships while on the ULCERGARD trial program. I plan on using it prior to and during all future competitions."
